POLITIKA

Akala niyo sa gobyerno lang existent ang politika. Newsflash people. It’s everywhere. From schools, to offices and anywhere else within the jurisdiction of this country. Naknampu. A couple of months ago, I was watching the NCCC Teen Club model search. Apart from the fact that I have a penchant for dissing the pretty young (brainless) things make a fool of themselves on stage for a couple of thousand bucks and the bragging rights for being... well... models... (Get your pom poms out kiddos! Recite this with much pep ala cheerleader)THEY’RE PRETTY! THEY’RE SEXY! THEY’RE POPULAR TO BOOT! I have to be there for a really close friend of mine. Trust me, this girl is a certified eye candy and on the brains part, she’s certainly smart for someone as pretty as she is (stereotype alert!). Pero seriously, she has a good head on her shoulders, like a handful of them are (dissing aside). Then out of the blue, this girl comes out and introduces herself. Miyembro siya sa isa sa mga bigating clan sa Davao. So, ganito ang intro niya (I changed the name kasi baka pag uwi ko ng Davao eh Ma Ninoy Aquino pa ako sa eroplano pa lang diba?)"Hi! My name is Diane Santos... You know, SANTOS!" (With emphasis on the last name). Galing ng Intro ano? And you’ll never guess what happened in the finals: hinakot niya lahat ng awards. I didn’t stay long enough to see who won but if my guess is correct, I think she brought home the bacon. Siyempre, medyo bitter ako. I placed my bet on my close friend kasi model na model ang dating non. But don’t get me wrong though, "Diane" is not that bad looking. She is, infact, pretty cute... But not that cute. She’s not much of a stunner. And height wise? She’s a little short on that department, if you know what I mean. And this was supposed to be a model search. And just recently, I was in a car show kasi ang dad ng friend ko me entry. Sobrang hanep ng kotse nun, Evo 7 na ang ganda ng pagka modify, down to the last detail. Pati ang Body graphics, panalong panalo. But sadly, he didn’t win. Okay lang naman diba? Pero ang masaklap nun, ang katabi niya ang panalo na sobrang plain lang, and though I don’t have any know-hows in car modification and what have yous, Eh siyempre, It wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to know na wala talagang ikakabuga ung kotseng un kumpara sa kotse ni tito. Tang kanot... I just discovered na ang may ari nung entry na un, eh rubbing elbows din pala with the organizers of the car show. Bad trip diba?If that’s not enough, here’s another tidbit. I listened to one of my dormies last night rant about the so called "Mean Girls" from Miriam college. Tangkanot ha. See the difference. This girl (a daughter of one of the bigatins in this country. Clue: Nasunugan na sila ng bahay. And ang initials ng last name ay D.V.) forgot to bring her ID to school. Eh patakaran naman ng lahat ng school diba ay NO ID NO ENTRY. Sa ilang taon niyang nag-aaral, alam na dapat niya yan. Pero siyempre, dahil sa D.V. siya, nakalusot pa rin siya with "Manong guard, I left kasi my ID at home. So ano, hindi nalang akong papasok?". This country is plagued with so much politics and corruption that it would take a lifetime to improve its sorry state. Sa mga ganyan pa nga eh usong uso na ang politiko, what more sa gobyerno mismo diba?
