Why be in a hurry to grow up? Youth comes once in your life... Take your time.
I know how it is to be a kid. You simply can't wait to grow up. But when you get there, trust me, you'd wish you could turn back the hands of time to be that innocent kid with self respect on your cheeks.
Hey, trust me... I've spent most of my highschool freshman year stuffing my bra with tissue just to make them look big. But then you learn that they just grow in their own time. Even bigger than you expect them to be.
You spend your time trying to starve yourself to look like Paris freakin Hilton but fast forward when you're in your mid 20's you'd realize you weren't as fat as you think. So don't sweat it. Eat as much as you like... (Taken that it's still in the food pyramid). A donut or two won't hurt.
Lay off the make up kid. It's bad for your skin. Enjoy the fact that you've got small pores and great skin sans the wrinkles and the adult acne. Having a zit or two isn't such a bad thing. Compare that to having those break outs when you're dealing with the stress of having to beat deadlines, running back and forth to finish reports, dealing with your college professors, your boyrfriend, the job interview. And don't get me started with wrinkles and crowsfeet. 10 years from now, you'd wish you didn't pile up on those chemicals no matter how hypo-allergenic they claim to be. So save the foundation, the lip stick and the eye shadows for your 20's when the work place requires you to look twice your age.
Avoid the wrong crowd while you still have the chance. Trust me, I've learned my lesson. And believe me when I say curiosity killed the cat. That's how it all starts. You take a puff and a sip and before you know it, it becomes a habit. You get my point. Some people I know won't last long enough to see their great grand children. I think you know why.
Study... Read... And read some more. It comes in handy in time. Trust me.
Save money. Start with 1 peso a day. Imagine how much you'll have when you graduate college.
Love? That can wait. You're young! You've got alot more in store for you so don't settle on one guy just yet. Wait till you've been around the world and back until you finally search for the one. Don't let one guy come between you and your dreams.
Sooner or later, you might realize that he's not the one and you'll regret it.
Sure, finding friends isn't exactly hard but finding real friends? It's like searching for a needle in a hay stack. But here's a tip: A real friend will like to kill you sometimes but they'd kill for you... Sure, you don't have to be each other's clone and you don't always have to like the same type of men, clothes, food and all that... but then, between you and these things? nothing would break that bond... These guys will love, accept and understand you for the weirdo that you are and will always be there for you no matter what... And though they will most likely bitch out on you for being such a dope-ass for doing the craziest thing like making a suicide attempt over some asshole who dumped you, they will never dish this info out to anyone... And they'll still love you anyway... Next to your sister, they're the only people you can run to in times of trouble... And the best part? These people are willing to risk their life and limb for you when you need it... Even waaay before you asked for it...
Keep challenging yourself. Don't settle for mediocrity. Aim for the best. Aim for the stars for if you fall, you still have the trees to land on.
Play. Take your time (while you still have it) and enjoy that energy while it's still in you.
And most importantly, though your mom and dad could be the biggest pain in the ass sometimes, try to listen to what they have to say... It could be worth lending an ear to. BEsides, they've been through the whole ride... you know they're just trying to clue you in on some important road blocks and bumps to watch out for... But then, you don't have follow each and every advice they give you... live your life... pursue your own dreams... and fight for it... someday, you'll make them even prouder than you'll ever imagine...
